*Disclaimer/apology to those who are involved for my mistaken dates/specifics of what happened
*Disclaimer #2: I’m going to be more elaborate on my scenes, since, you know, I’m me, I know what happened with me

First you need to know the characters:
1. God – pretty self explanatory, good, all knowing, all powerful and really good at making you trust Him because you have no idea what’s going on.
2. Abram – My good friend and teammate, is a servant and a dreamer.
3. Emily – My other good friend who lives in another city far far away from mine, called Nanchang. She is also a teacher. She is a planner and a pretty practical person.
Me – I’ll just let you make your own conclusions.
Act 1
Scene 1: January 2011
God (to Abram): Go to India and serve at the Mother Teresa house.
Abram: What? Okay, that sounds awesome!
Scene 2: September/October
(Abram sends out a message asking for others to go.)
Emily: Oh! There is a group going to India, I’ll join.
Abram: well, it’s just me.
Emily: Oh… well, we can just wait and see if someone else joins.
Scene 3: December
After months of waiting and prayer on Abram and Emily’s part
God (to me): Ashley, go to India.
Me: India, what? I wanted to go there in high school but that was forever ago. If I go to India, I’ll see poverty like I never have before and I don’t know how to take care of people with mental disorders, I’m not comfortable with it.
God: Ashley, go to India.
Me: dang it, I think I’m supposed to go to India.
Thus follows a series of unfortunate/providential events where there was much confusion about the timing of the trip, getting visas, and expenses. During this time the following dialogue happened.
Act 2 (all in December)
Scene 1
Emily: I’m not so sure about India. All these things are happening and it just isn’t working out. Maybe Father doesn’t want us to go, should we go?
God: What did I say?
Emily: Okay, I’ll go
Scene 2
(before finding out that Emily was still in)
Abram: I’m not so sure about India; if Emily doesn’t go we can’t go at all. Maybe I was wrong about God telling me to go. Should we go, Father?
God: What did I say?
Abram: Okay, I’ll go.
Scene 3
Me: I have no idea what’s going on. I’m still afraid to go. I want to, but I’m afraid. Should I go?
God: Ashley, what did I say? Go to India.
Me: Okay, I’ll go.
There was a time during the planning of our trip when each of us wasn’t sure about it, but during the whole thing, God kept constant, always reminding us of what He asked us to do. It was a little rocky but eventually everything fell into place and we got our visas the day before our train left to go to the city where we would catch our flight.
The End (till next time)
Us with our Indian Visas!!
